In general, I recommend living in one of these areas: North Park, Hillcrest, Mission Valley, North Pacific Beach, or UTC. La Mesa (East County) and central Oceanside are also nice areas but off the beaten path.

I also recommend finding Facebook hobby or age groups, joining a Volo sports team, or attending one of my hosted events! Most importantly, give yourself time and be gentle as you put down your roots.
