Awesome August Events in San Diego

It may be one of San Diego’s hottest temperature months, but it’s also one of it’s hottest months for events! As the summer continues to heat up, here are some of the finale’s to vacation you can enjoy! These August events in San Diego include everything from concerts to apple picking to craft brews. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

1. Apple & Berry Picking Season in Julian
If you haven’t made your way up to the mountains in East County, now is a great opportunity with lots of community activities and local produce to be picked! Or go try local wine, beer and cider! A couple of my favorites are the sangria at Blue Door Winery, Julian Hard Cider, and Volcan Mountain Winery.
Volcan Valley Apple Farm begins apple picking season on August 21st (Greenstein variety) and will continue through September as additional varieties ripen.
Julian Mining Company / Julian Farm is currently open for raspberry, strawberry, and blackberry picking on weekends for walk-ins. They even have U-Pick zinnia flower bouquets this year!
Another unique agricultural opportunity is the annual grape stomp event on September 4th at Meghini Winery! From 11am – 5pm, participate in traditional winemaking for $20 per person (includes a glass of wine).

2. Best of San Diego Festival 2021
Hosted by San Diego Magazine, August 20th 6:30 – 9:30pm, come experience some of the award-winning local restaurants, breweries, and businesses at Liberty Station. 4. New Restaurant Openings
With the end of summer comes the final large waves of new restaurant openings! Here’s a few I’m particularly excited about:
Wolfie’s Carousel Bar – Where the childhood fair meets adulthood boozy drinks! Tuesday, August 17th is their debut in Little Italy. Cocktail and food menus are creatively curated by locally famous chefs.
Camino Riviera – Recently renovated right next door, this Mexican fare restaurant is returning with Tulum- inspired vibes. They are adding live music every night and be open later for diners to enjoy the urban jungle. Stay tuned for an opening in late August!
Mostra Coffee (Banker’s Hill) – An exciting new addition to the area, Mostra Coffee is not only delicious, but is also dedicated to doing good in the world. A portion of their profits goes towards eradicating poverty in the Philippines – one of the world’s leading coffee producers.
5. Concerts
